To track Facebook ads correctly from an online shop in Bangladesh you need both the Facebook Pixel (in the browser) and the Conversions API (from your server), sending the same events with the same event ID so Facebook counts each sale once. This guide shows where to get the Pixel ID and access token, how to connect them in Sellsull, and how to fix the most common tracking problems.
Why the Pixel alone is not enough
- Browsers block it: iPhones, ad blockers and in-app browsers stop many Pixel events, so Facebook sees fewer buyers than you really have.
- Ads learn from what they see: with missing purchases, the algorithm finds fewer real buyers and your cost per order goes up.
- The server fills the gap: the Conversions API sends the same events from your store's server, which nothing on the phone can block.
When both send an event with the same event ID, Facebook keeps one and drops the duplicate. That is called deduplication, and it is why a correct setup doesn't double your numbers.
What you need from Facebook
- Pixel ID: Events Manager → Data sources → your Pixel. It is a 15–16 digit number.
- Conversions API access token: in the same Pixel, open Settings → Conversions API → Generate access token. Copy it once; Facebook won't show it again.
- Test event code (optional): Events Manager → Test events. It lets you watch events arrive live while you set up.
Connect them in Sellsull
- Go to Manage Shop → Google, Facebook & TikTok.
- Paste the Pixel ID and the access token, add the test event code if you have one, and save.
- Open your store in another browser, view a product, add it to the cart and place a test order.
- In Events Manager → Test events, check that each event shows both "Browser" and "Server".
- Remove the test event code when you're done, so real events are counted normally.
The Facebook Pixel and Conversions API are part of the Professional and Platinum plans. The TikTok Pixel and Events API and Google Analytics 4 are in the same settings page.
Which events are sent
| Event | When | Browser | Server |
|---|---|---|---|
| PageView | Any page opens | Yes | On landing pages |
| ViewContent | A product page opens | Yes | Yes |
| AddToCart | Add to cart | Yes | Yes |
| InitiateCheckout | Checkout starts | Yes | Yes |
| Purchase | An order is placed | Yes | Yes |
Purchase carries the order value and the products, so Facebook can optimise for sales and report your return on ad spend.
Send Purchase only for confirmed orders
With cash on delivery, some orders are fake or get cancelled on the confirmation call. If every order counts as a purchase, ads learn to find people who order but never pay. In Sellsull you can switch Purchase to be sent when you confirm the order instead of when it is placed. Your Facebook numbers then match real orders more closely, and ads optimise for people who actually accept the parcel.
Common problems and fixes
- Facebook shows more purchases than orders: check Events Manager for Event Setup Tool rules that turn button clicks (like "Order now") into Purchase events, and delete them. Full list of causes in Bangla: why Facebook shows more purchases than orders.
- A hand-typed fbclid in your ad link: some ads carry
fbclid=…typed into the URL or URL parameters. Remove it; Facebook adds the real one by itself. - Dates don't match: Ads Manager counts by the day of the ad click, Events Manager by the day of the event, and both use your ad account's time zone.
- Low event match quality: customer phone numbers and the Facebook browser cookies are sent with server events to improve matching. Make sure the phone field is required at checkout.
To see what your store actually sent, open Reports → Facebook Tracking in the vendor panel: purchases sent, how many were confirmed or cancelled, and a setup check. More on server-side tracking in Bangla: where to set up server-side tracking.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a developer to set up the Conversions API?
No. In Sellsull you paste the Pixel ID and access token; the store sends the server events for you.
Will the Pixel and Conversions API double count my sales?
No. Both send the same event ID and Facebook keeps one of them.
Can I use Google Tag Manager instead?
You can add a GTM container ID as well, but don't fire Purchase from GTM and from the built-in Pixel at the same time, or it will be counted twice.
Does it work with TikTok ads?
Yes. Add your TikTok Pixel ID and Events API token in the same settings page; the same events are sent to TikTok.
Which plan do I need?
