How do I calculate profit per order for an online shop?

Take the selling price and subtract the product cost, packaging, any delivery charge you pay, the COD fee, the cost of returns and the ad cost per delivered order. What is left is your real profit. This calculator does exactly that.

Why include the cost of returns?

With cash on delivery some parcels always come back, and each one costs courier charges and time. Spreading that loss over your delivered orders shows your real profit.

Should ad cost be divided by all orders or delivered orders?

Delivered orders. If ৳10,000 of ads brought 50 orders but 40 were delivered, your ad cost is ৳250 per order, not ৳200.

Is my data saved anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser; no number is sent to our server or stored.

What profit is good?

There is no single number. What matters is profit per order after ads and returns. If it is thin, work on the price, ad cost or return rate.
